My Life in Jesus

夫のクリスが職場の人からタイのインスタントラーメンをいただきました。
My husband Chris received a package of Thai instant noodles
from a co-worker.



いつ食べようか、なんて話をしていたら、夫が一言。
We were talking about when we would eat them, and he said:


「このラーメン、味はまあまあだと思うよ。」
"I think these noodles are so-so (In Japanese, we say "ma-ma-".)."


「え？何でまあまあって知ってるの？」と私。
I said: "Huh? How do you know it's so-so (ma-ma-)?"







「ラーメンの名前が『まあまあ（MAMA）』だから。」（真剣）
"It's because the name of the noodles is MAMA (so-so)."
(He said it so seriously.)

きゃ～☆久々に夫のジョークに笑いました！
（これを読んでる人、引いてる人多いだろうな。。。（笑））
Wow☆ I laughed at his joke for a long time!
(People who are reading this right now might be groaning... :D)

私が今行っている教会、カルバリー・アッセンブリーの「アクセス」という
午前11時半の礼拝の様子。
This is the church that I go to now, Calvary Assembly's service
called "Access". It's at 11:30am on Sundays.





礼拝は日曜日に10時と11時半の2回行われていて、私たちは割りと若い世代の多い
この11時半の礼拝、アクセスに行っています。
There is also a 10:00am service, but the Access service is
more for the younger generation.

10時は大きいホールで礼拝が行われているのですが、私たちが行っているのは
300人ぐらいが入る小さなライブハウスのようなホール。日本のホームチャーチ、
ジーザスライフハウスに雰囲気が似ているのです。最初に惹かれたのはだからなのかな。
The 10:00am service is held in the big hall, while the Access service
is in a small hall that is like a live concert venue that holds about 300 people.
The atmosphere is very similar to my home church in Japan, Jesus Lifehouse.
Maybe that's why I was attracted to this service when I came
for the first time.


普段メッセージを語ってくれるのはPs George（ジョージ牧師）。
（「Ps」はPastor（パスター）、つまり「牧師」の略です。）
情熱的で神様の知恵に溢れるとっても尊敬しているPastor（牧師）です！
（Ps Georgeは背が高く、私は小さいので、Ps George、少ししゃがんでる。（笑））
Ps George is the one who gives the message most of the time.
He is passionate and full of God's wisdom. I really respect him!
(Ps George is tall and I am small, so he is bending his knees
in this picture. :D)





日本ではバイリンガルでいつもメッセージを聞いていたのですが、こちらに来てからは
英語のみ。最初は違和感があったけれど、だいぶ慣れてきた気がします。
I used to listen to bilingual messages all the time in Japan,
but I hear messages just in English now. It was a little akward first,
but I'm getting used to it.

熱いPs Georgeのメッセージはここから聴けます！土日はテレビでもメッセージが見れます。
今シリーズで、「夏の家族ロード・トリップ」（「ロード・トリップ」って
日本語で何て言うのだろう？）というメッセージが語られているのですが
（アメリカでは夏に家族でキャンピング・カーで旅行をするという過ごし方があるため。）、
毎週都市ごとのテーマからメッセージが語られていて素晴らしいです。

He gives us messages relating to each city and it's wonderful.


実は2週間前、シカゴからメッセージが語られるはずだったのですが、
急遽祈りと賛美の礼拝に変わりました。その祈りと賛美によって、
神様から語られていたことに対する自分の決意がすごく明確になったんです。
He was going to preach through Chicago two weeks ago,
but he changed the service to a prayer and worship service.
Through the prayers and worship we had on Sunday,
the decisions I had been making about things
God has been talking to me about were strongly confirmed.


神様の道を歩みたい。神様がなさる奇蹟をずっとずっと見ていたい。
神様に語られて何かをする時、その時は小さい決断かもしれないけれど、
その毎日の小さい決断を、神様がどのように用いて下さるかは計り知れない。
だから、どんな小さなことでも忠実でいたい。その小さなことから、
神様は私には決して成し得ない程の大きな奇蹟を見せて下さるって信じてるから。
I would like to walk in God's way. I want to see God's miracles always.
When you obey God, the decison you make might be small,
but you never know how greatly God will use it.
So, I would like to be faithful in little things because I believe
God will show me big miracles that I could never see with my strength.


そしてこのブログを読んでくれている日本在住のみなさん、オーランドは遠いけれど、
日本には愛に溢れた教会がたくさんあります！
For everyone who reads this blog in Japan, Orlando might be far away
for you, but there are many churches in Japan that are full of love!

自分を目的を持って造ってくれた神様、あなたのことを完全な愛で愛して下さっている神様、

There are so many passionate Christians!

一昨日ミルクをヘアカットに連れて行きました。いい加減もじゃもじゃで、
せっかく白内障の手術で左目が見えるようになったのに、毛が邪魔で見えづらそうで。
I took Milk to the groomer to get her hair cut the day before yesterday.
Her hair was frizzy. She is now able to see with her left eye after the cataract
surgery, but it looked like it was hard for her to see things because her hair
was blocking it.

こちらに来ていくつかのお店をトライしたのですが、今回のお店は今までアメリカで
トライした中で技術が一番！（と言っても、日本で行っていたトリマーさんにはかないません。）
We have tried some other groomers but this shop is the best since
we've moved here! (The groomer we used to go to in Japan
was much better than any of the ones here.)

これがアップされている時はちょうど仕事中。マジック・キングダムは今の時期遅くまで
オープンしていることが多く、夜から朝方までシフトが入っていたりすることも。
I will be working when this is posted. The Magic Kingdom is open late often
this season. Sometime I get a shift that has me working from evening until
the next morning.

フロリダは今の時期、夕方になると雷雨がほとんど毎日あります。
そんな時運転していると、やっぱり緊張します。この写真はそんな時に撮ったもの。
（写真は料金所でストップした直後に撮ってます。）
At this time in Florida, we have big thunderstorms almost everyday.
I get nervous when it happenes while I'm driving. I took this picture
during a storm. (I took it when I stopped to pay the toll.)



これはまだ前の車が見えますが、ひどい時は目の前がほとんど見えません。
この間なんて、小さな竜巻が横切るのを見ました。怖かった～！
This picture doesn't show the worst storm. Sometimes you can't see anything
in front of you. Recently I saw a little tornado crossing by. It was scary!


でもスコールが明けた後は、晴れていても少し気温が下がるので気持ちが良いです♪
But, when the rain is over, and the sun comes out, it feels cooler♪

私たちの犬、ミルクは渡米してからもう2度も手術しました。
日本で一度腫瘍を取り除く手術をしているので、合計3回。
Our dog, Milk, has already had two operations since we moved to the States.
She had one operation in Japan, so she has had three operations in her life.

一番最近した手術は目の手術。両目とも白内障になってしまったのですが、
左目だけ手術を受けました。右目も手術が出来れば良かったのですが、
目の奥の神経がもう駄目になっていて、手術しても成果は出ないだろうとのことで断念。
The recent operation she had was for her eyes. She had cataracts
in both eyes but she had the operation for only her left eye. It would be
great if she could have had one for her right eye too, but the nerve
behind the right one was not working properly so we decided not to do it
for that eye because it wouldn't make any difference.

こればっかりは分からないのですが、もっと早めに眼科に連れて行ってあげてたら
もしかしたら右目も見えるようになった可能性もあったとのことで、後悔しています。（泣）
ごめんね、ミルク。でも左目だけでも見えるようになって本当に良かった！
We are not certain, but the right eye possibly could have been fixed
if we had taken her to the vet early enough, so I feel guilty about it. :(
I'm sorry, Milk. However, it's great that she can see now even with
only her left eye!


写真のミルクは渡米して一度目の手術の時のもの。トリマーさんに足の付け根に
怪我をさせられてしまい、その場所が菌に感染してしまったんです。
The picture is one from after the first operation after we moved to the States.
At this time, she got cut by her groomer under her leg and
it became infected.



ミルクも今年で13歳。長生きしてね、ミルク☆
Milk is 13 years old this year. Live a long life, Milk☆
